Who we are

This website is run by James Skripek, trading as Pristine Motors Car Care, a car detailing business based at Unit 12, Grassy Court, Etwall Road, Derby DE3 0BX. James is responsible for the personal information you give us (the “controller”). You can contact him at pristinemotorscarcare@gmail.com or on 07399 444638.

What we collect, and why

When you send the quote form, we collect your name, phone number, email address and postcode, your car’s make and model, the service and extras you’re interested in, and anything else you choose to tell us.

We use it only to reply to your enquiry: to give you a quote, arrange a date and, if you book, carry out the work. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you. If you phone or email us instead, we use what you tell us in the same way.

We don’t sell your information, use it for marketing or add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

Quote requests sent through the website are deleted automatically 12 months after they arrive. If you book with us, we keep the details we need for our business records, such as invoices, for as long as the law requires.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of trusted companies to run the website and our email. They handle your information only on our instructions:

• our website host (Hetzner, managed through xCloud), which stores the website and quote requests
• Cloudflare, which runs the website’s domain and protects it from attacks
• Brevo, which sends the website’s emails
• Google (Gmail), where James receives your enquiry
• Backblaze, which stores encrypted backups of the website
• Carrett, the web designer who builds and looks after the website

Some of these companies may handle information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop or limit how we use it. To do any of these, contact James at pristinemotorscarcare@gmail.com. We’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
